The main goal of the project is to increase employee involvement in decision-making processes related to changes in company policy caused by current changes in the labour market, such as automation, decarbonisation, globalization and climate change.

THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

PLANNED ACTIVITIES

Implementation: 1st of March 2020 – 30th of November 2021

Online consultation of experts to develop a joint strategy – a code of conduct for employee representatives and companies aimed at increasing employee involvement in decision making.

1 day, 8 participants – one representative from each organization.

Discussion of EU law on employee involvement and social partner activities at EU level to meet current labour market challenges.

2 days, 14 people, 2 people from each organization.

Topic: Key challenges for the mining industry from the perspective of employees and employers.

3 discussion panels:

  • Decarbonisation of the economy and the interests of employees and employers of the mining sector.
  • Work automation and adaptation of employees’ skills to technological changes.
  • Globalization – transnational reorganization of companies and employees’ rights to information, consultation and participation, how to use employee participation mechanisms to deal with the challenges of the labour market in a socially responsible way.

Development and translation of participatory management strategy and a socially responsible transition to a low-carbon economy and a digital economy in the mining industry.

2 days, 14 people – 2 people from each organization.

Training topics: decarbonisation, automation, climate change, globalization – as challenges for today’s employees in the mining sector; rights, obligations, opportunities and threats for employees; legal regulations regarding the above areas relevant for employees in the mining sector.

8 participants, one representative from each organization + approx. 30 local participants from Serbia.

Discussing the implementation of the strategy and further development of transnational cooperation of employee representatives.
